Role Summary

The System & Network Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, system reliability, and robust security across the enterprise. This hybrid role offers a balance of hands-on technical work and strategic oversight, supporting both network and server environments.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the engineer will manage deployments, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices across cloud, on-premise, and virtualized environments. The position also supports cybersecurity initiatives and provides Level 2 support to the Service Desk, contributing directly to business continuity and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Manage and support VoIP systems, including call trees, hunt groups, and softphones.

Implement and monitor security protocols such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.

Administer Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, Microsoft 365, EntraID, and Azure environments.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems.

Perform patch management, system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery planning.

Monitor and optimize network and server performance to ensure high availability.

Maintain and enforce cybersecurity controls aligned with compliance frameworks.

Provide technical support to internal users and application development teams.

Document system configurations, procedures, and infrastructure changes.

Key Requirements

2–4 years of experience in systems and network engineering roles.

Hands-on experience with SDWAN, LAN / WLAN, and firewall management (Meraki preferred).

Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365.

Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware / vSphere) and cloud infrastructure.

Familiarity with VPN / SASE solutions and internet filtering tools (Zscaler ZIA / ZPA preferred).

Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (CMMC, NIST-800, PCI) and EDR tools (Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).

Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with MSPs and tools such as RingCentral, Veeam, Verkada, and Proofpoint is a plus.

Willingness to travel up to 10%.
