Supervisor, Fleet

Responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the Fleet Maintenance department within the designated area along with ensuring that all Fleet equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner.

Duties and responsibilities include :

  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance programs are being followed at all locations.
  • Performing quality control audits.
  • Ensuring accuracy of documentation generated by employees and vendors for all maintenance activities.
  • Generating capital refurbishment schedule based on need and available capital funding.
  • Providing training for all subordinate personnel.
  • Ensuring proper disposal and documentation of waste stream items.
  • Assisting subordinates in making decisions concerning efficiency of shop operations.
  • Ensuring all maintenance and repairs are performed in a cost effective manner.
  • Supervising operations to ensure compliance according to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Ensuring that parts inventories are maintained at correct efficiency levels.
  • Coordinating members of all functional areas to ensure that equipment needs are met.
  • Ensuring that all vehicles are prepared for transfer or disposal as needed.

Qualifications include :

  • Education : High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years in Fleet Maintenance with 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to provide direction to subordinates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driving License.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule if needed.
  • Must be able to lift and move items in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Requires travel to designated service area.
  • Demonstrated PC skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage expectations and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Class A Mechanic certification preferred.
  • Extensive automotive and mechanical knowledge.
  • Prepare and manage budgets.
  • Knowledge of DOT, MOT and CVIP compliance programs, as well as PM programs and liaison with these government bodies.
  • Must be organized, computer literate, a good communicator, diplomatic and able to multi-task.
  • Uphold company policy and protect trademark.
