Job Title : Building Coordinator

Department : Direct Services

Reports to : Associate Director of Adult and Senior Services

Hours : Part-time 20hrs a week

Pay : $18.00 hr

Job Summary :

Under the direction of the Director / Manager, this position is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the building and related areas. Superior customer service skills will be provided to all guests, as well as company policies and procedures followed at all times. Operations Coordinator will assist with Conference Center tasks, this includes but is not limited to daily room set ups for meetings / events, understanding and assistance with Conference Center technical support, and other duties assigned. Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and techniques are essential to this position. This position ensures services are provided in a culturally competent, empathetic, and effective manner while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to agency policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

The Operations Coordinator will :

Vacuum, sweep, scrub, dust, wash, and mop all of the assigned areas.

Clean and sanitize restrooms with mops and disinfectants.

Restock supplies and restrooms multiple times a day.

Empty trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as needed.

Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Clean doors and frames.

Clean windowsills, windows, countertops, Cubicles, and mirrors.

Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.

Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.

Apply wax to coat floors and buff.

Identify and report potential and needed repairs within the facility.

Understand how to read MSDS sheets.

Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Assist the Conference Center Coordinator with technical support, room set up and specific meetings / event needs each day.

Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders to prepare facilities for daily meetings and events.

Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs, twisting, bending, and squatting is required.

Work closely with the Conference Center Coordinator and Director to ensure all scheduled events are being handled appropriately and effectively.

Lifting of less than 50 lbs. is required on a daily basis, heavy lifting occasional.

Assist / lead volunteers to ensure all tasks are being completed daily throughout the facility.

Assist in completing miscellaneous tasks needed throughout the facility.

All other duties as assigned.

Experience & Requirements :

Minimum of one year or more related experience.

Must pass background check.

TB test clearance.

Maintain CA driver’s license.

Must have automobile and proof of insurance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Ability to establish positive rapport with diverse populations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.

Supports and adheres to the values and mission statement established by AVPH Board of Directors.

Self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and require minimal supervision.
