POSITION SUMMARY :

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will provide behavior analytic services to pediatric clients with a range of medical and neurodevelopmental diagnoses. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, family-centered care, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support optimal developmental outcomes.

JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Service

o Collaborates effectively with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Clinical Excellence
  • o Utilize evidence-based behavior analytic interventions aligned with current Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines and pediatric best practices.

    o Monitor treatment fidelity and adjust interventions based on data-driven decision-making.

    o Integrate developmental, medical, and behavioral considerations into treatment planning.

    o Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive care principles.

    o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging research in pediatric behavior analysis.

    o Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill-based assessments tailored to pediatric populations.

    o Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment data and evidence-based practices.

    o Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including but not limited to physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapist.

    o Create and update behavioral master treatment plan goals aligned with individualized assessments, interdisciplinary input, and measurable behavioral outcomes.

    o Provide support and collaborate with families and guardians to facilitate effective transitions and continuity of care across discharge settings.

    o Supervise and train Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other support staff.

  • Patient Experience and Advocacy
  • o Foster a compassionate, family-centered approach to care that respects the values and preferences of each family.

    o Educate and empower caregivers through training and ongoing support.

    o Advocate for the needs of children with complex medical and developmental profiles within educational and healthcare systems.

    o Promote inclusion and participation in age-appropriate activities and community settings.

    o Develop and implement family training plans to support generalization of behavioral strategies and ensure continuity of care during discharge planning.

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • o Ensures all activities adhere to healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

    o Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

    o Promotes a culture of patient safety which results in the identification and reduction of unsafe practices.

    o Ensure compliance with BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts and HIPAA regulations.

    o Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of services.

    o Participate in internal audits, peer reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

    o Adhere to organizational policies and payer requirements for service delivery and documentation.

    o Monitor and analyze behavioral program metrics to guide data-driven decision-making and ensure ongoing program effectiveness.

  • Professional Growth and Continuing Education
  • o Completes annual education requirements.

    o Maintains competency, as evidenced by completion of competency validation requirements.

    o Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments.

    o Participates in relevant workshops, seminars, and continuing education courses to stay current with industry trends, healthcare regulations, and best practices.

    o Complete required continuing education, including ethics and supervision.

    o Attend professional conferences, workshops, and in-service trainings.

    o Engage in peer consultation and mentorship opportunities.

  • Finance
  • o Promotes stewardship of hospital resources while ensuring quality patient care.

    o Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure accurate billing and authorization processes.

    o Monitor service utilization and productivity benchmarks.

    o Contribute to program development and sustainability through efficient service delivery.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

    EDUCATION :

  • Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing ABA services to pediatric populations.
  • Experience working with children with complex medical and neurodevelopmental diagnoses (e.g., autism, cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes).
  • Prior experience in interdisciplinary or healthcare settings preferred.
  • SKILLS :

  • Strong clinical assessment and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and ABA data systems.
  • Culturally competent and adaptable to diverse family needs.
  • LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :

  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association / / American Red Cross required, must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from date of hire.
  • De-escalation training within 30 days after hire.
  • Must maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility.
