Title : Program Manager (EHS - Environmental Health and Safety)
Location : Santa Rosa, CA
Duration : 6 Months, conversion to full-time later
100% Onsite
This opportunity is for an on-site Programs Manager Safety, Facilities, and OPEX located in Santa Rosa, California. This role is responsible for EHS and general safety at the site and program management support to continually drive improvements.
Responsibilities
- Monitors the workplace environment in the laboratory facility and office locations by analyzing work processes, materials, equipment, and the work habits of employees and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where hazards exist.
- Conducts and coordinates ergonomic risk assessments and makes appropriate corrective action recommendations.
- Develops and oversees EHS training programs for employees in areas such as employee-right-to-know, ergonomics, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
- Performs EHS duties such as job safety analyses, health and safety training, workplace incident investigations, workplace safety inspections, PPE usage and internal audits as directed.
- Coordinates employee exposure monitoring activities for chemical and physical agents.
- Supports the management / reporting of all hazardous material and hazardous waste activities including the collection, transportation, and disposal of all hazardous waste in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Reviews new hazardous materials and checks incoming material for SDSs, unique usage and storage characteristics. Works with end user to ensure proper usage and disposal. Provides guidance as necessary.
- Oversees site security and maintains compliance with local and company standards.
- Leads the maintenance of the facilitys Emergency Response and Fire Plans and provides on-call support for EHS / Facilities emergencies.
- Updates and maintains all required documentation and records for environmental health and safety activities.
- Provides supervisory oversight for the facilities management and maintenance vendors personnel and oversees facilities planning, space allocations, construction, modification and maintenance.
- Provides project management support for OPEX related projects, including tracking, and reporting.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum of 3+ years experience in the Health and Safety field with both hands-on and program management experienceExperience in Environment, Health & Safety, and working knowledge of operational excellence and / or project managementAbility to navigate and interpret EHS regulationsStrong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organizationAdditional Theoretical Responsibilities
