Hearing Support Specialist (Office Specialist 2)

This position is with the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). WCB provides timely and impartial resolution of disputes arising under the Workers' Compensation Law and Oregon Safe Employment Act.
This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Here's what you will do :
As the Hearing Support Specialist, you will process all agency mail, which includes opening, screening, routing, and recognizing appropriate processing actions for legal filings, motions, requests for expedited hearings. You will also be the backup for the primary receptionist, as well as perform a variety of other back-up duties within the Administrative Services Division.

Minimum Qualifications :
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documentsOR
An associate degree in any fieldOR
An equivalent combination of education and experienceRequested Skills :
Experience providing clerical support in a fast-paced office environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriatelyExcellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlinesExperience working as a receptionist or first point of contact, including phone and in-person communicationProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools.Ability to remain calm and professional under pressureFlexibility and adaptability when responding to changing priorities or unexpected situationsAbility to lift 30-50 lbs.Has outstanding attendanceApplication information :

Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, a pay equity analysis will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered. On average, candidates new to state service will most likely be offered compensation in the lower to mid-level of the salary range.The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate.
