Assistant Property Manager Affordable Housing
Location : 11209 Rylie Crest Drive, Dallas County, Balch Springs, TX 75180 - Peachtree Senior
Compensation : $19-$22 Per Hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager with experience in affordable housing to help manage the day-to-day operations of one of our senior living communities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with LIHTC and affordable housing programs, and will play a critical role in leasing, compliance, tenant relations, and operational support.
This position supports the Property Manager in all aspects of community oversight, ensuring that residents receive excellent service and that the property remains in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Essential Functions
Resident Management
- Assist with resident relations by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and providing consistent communication and support
- Process move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals in accordance with company policies and compliance regulations
- Support resident engagement efforts to foster a positive and inclusive community environment
Affordable Housing Compliance
Assist with maintaining compliance with all affordable housing guidelines, including LIHTC and other funding programsProcess income certifications, recertifications, and maintain accurate tenant files in accordance with regulatory requirementsEnsure all required documentation is complete, current, and audit-readyLeasing & Marketing
Conduct property tours, respond to leasing inquiries, and assist applicants through the leasing and eligibility processSupport leasing efforts to maintain optimal occupancy levels by assisting with marketing outreach, managing listings, and tracking vacanciesPrepare lease agreements and ensure compliance with fair housing regulationsMaintenance Coordination
Log, monitor, and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completionCoordinate with vendors, maintenance technicians, and residents to ensure high-quality serviceConduct routine inspections of units and common areas to uphold cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standardsFinancial & Administrative Support
Assist with rent collection, delinquency tracking, and enforcement of lease termsSupport budget tracking, invoice processing, and monthly reporting on occupancy, income, and expensesMaintain accurate records using property management software and assist with preparing property reports as neededTeam Collaboration
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Property Manager and on-site teamAttend team meetings, assist with inspections, audits, and site visitsCommunicate effectively with team members, residents, and vendors to ensure smooth property operationsQualifications
Experience
13 years of experience in property management or leasing, preferably in affordable housingWorking knowledge of LIHTC, and other low income programsFamiliarity with fair housing laws and housing compliance standardsEducation
High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field preferredProperty management certifications (NALP, CAM, COS, etc.) are a plusSkills
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skillsProficient in property management software and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain regulatory accuracyDetail-oriented and dependable with a strong team-first attitudeWork Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is primarily office-based but requires regular walking of the property and occasional physical activity. You must be able to :
Sit or stand for extended periods of timeWalk the property to inspect units, common areas, and exterior spacesLift files, packages, and materials up to 25 lbs.Use standard office equipment including computer, phone, copier, and scannerCommunicate effectively in person, by phone, and via emailMaintain regular attendance and availability for required office hours and on-site eventsContact your HR team for a full Physical Demands Analysis.
