POSITION SCOPE

The Heavy Equipment Operator position is designated as safety sensitive, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety protocols at all times. The operator must be proficient in operating machinery such as D8-D9 dozers and 345-352 excavators in accordance with project specifications to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the daily servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project duration.

The equipment operator will need to be highly skilled in navigating and operating machinery in mountainous terrain , which presents unique challenges such as pioneering access to build up extremely   steep slope s , uneven surfaces, rocky mountain terrain, and potential for landslides or loose soil . Proper training in mountain-specific safety protocols, equipment handling, and environmental considerations is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations in this rugged environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
• Assist with setup and tear down of plants
• Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
• General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisor
• Individuals must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
• The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary
• Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy
• Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
• Perform other duties as assigned
