Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location : Columbia, SC (with travel to subcontractor facilities)

Citizenship : US Citizenship Required

Annual Salary : $120k - $160k

Our client solves some of the most challenging problems in the water industry – from being first responders to the Fukushima Nuclear Plant meltdown to implementing patented first-of-its-kind technology. Their projects include industrial water recycling at government sites. The goal is to improve the environment and support clients with innovative, sustainable water treatment solutions. They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview The Senior Mechanical Engineer will review and approve design documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, technical reports, and calculations) and collaborate with engineering and project teams to design and implement water treatment systems globally.

  • Responsibilities

  • Interpret project specifications and define design / engineering scope
  • Ensure compliance with P&ID diagrams
  • Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs
  • Perform and document design calculations
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure design compliance with NQA-1 program
  • Interface with fabrication teams to optimize design
  • Apply design codes : ASME, ASCE, AWS, etc.
  • Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years in mechanical or design engineering
  • P.E. license preferred
  • Glovebox experience required (design, fabrication, integration, or testing)
  • Strong Creo or SOLIDWORKS knowledge preferred
  • Experience with Mathcad calculations
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving capabilities
