Mission Driven Data , a startup that empowers transformational leaders of social services agencies by providing access to meaningful data tools and passionate support, seeks compassionate, detail-oriented individuals with behavioral health industry background to support our growing list of clients interested in the data under the hood of their electronic health records.

We are excited for what we expect to be a year of growth, and we are hiring! This is a full-time 1099 / contract position and a great opportunity to use what you know about your existing behavioral health work, build new skills, and test the waters of working for a startup.

We call on  Solutions Consultants  to be liaisons between agencies and their data, inspiring leaders to consider new reporting solutions, helping them to refine their questions, and ultimately build reports that answer those questions.

Solutions Consultants should have experience working with agencies providing behavioral health, addiction treatment, or other social services. They should have administrative expertise with an electronic health record, ideally Credible by Qualifacts, and they should be passionate about helping agencies improve outcomes using data analytics. Previous experience building reports with Microsoft PowerBI, Yellowfin, or SQL is a plus.

You will work closely with individuals with varying technical abilities, which can sometimes translate into difficulty expressing or determining their reporting requirements. The individual who fills this position must be able to coach clients to develop reporting requirements, help refine those requirements while communicating complicated details about their data, and ultimately build reports that meet those requirements.

About Your Soft Skills & Background

You :

  • Think the term “Soft Skills” undervalues sorely needed and invaluable skills in IT, such as compassion for our end users, patience, and clear communication.
  • Are described by nontechnical and technical peers alike as organized, compassionate, patient and a clear communicator.
  • Are vaguely annoyed that this job post just alternated between using and not using Oxford commas.
  • Have experience learning about reporting requirements on your own from materials from SAMHSA or a state agency. You don’t mind reading documentation and formulating targeted questions for program leaders about how their data collection processes supports those reporting requirements.
  • Previously worked in Behavioral Health in some data-forward capacity. This might have been IT but might have been any number of positions that require data analysis and an understanding of how business processes impact data collection.
  • You want to work to improve lives in our community.

About Your Technical Skills

You have some combination of the following :

  • Ideally, work or have worked with the EHR Credible from Qualifacts, although we will consider applicants with experience using other Electronic Health Record systems.
  • You have an understanding of how data in systems like an EHR are related to each other, and terms like “one-to-many relationship” or the importance of a record’s unique identifier are familiar.
  • You are unafraid of a spreadsheet, and feel confident that, if you’re given the right raw data in a spreadsheet, you can answer any question someone might have.
  • You have some report building experience using tools such as CredibleBI (Yellowfin), PowerBI, Tableau and / or writing queries in SQL.
  • You might be the right person for this position if : You are excited about the idea of helping agencies to understand the complexities of their data, refine their reporting needs, and build reports and systems that support those needs.

In your previous roles, you frequently thought of ways your own workforce could use data to improve outcomes, and you spent some of your time working with others to use data to gain insight into program operations, and help define how to measure success. You’ve had some role in developing KPIs and discusssing how to specifically measure those KPIs with your data.

You are open to making and learning from mistakes, and you aren’t afraid to speak up when you don’t know something. You are good at managing your time and you like the challenge of learning new things. And, most of all, you like the idea of being a part of a scrappy woman-owned tech company out to change the world.

You might not be the right person for this position if : You prefer to work on your own, or to get directions from mostly technical leads. You don’t enjoy working on projects that involve a combination of technical and non- technical peers, and it’s frustrating to have conversations with folks who don’t know what you know about the systems you’re supporting. This also might not be right for you if it’s hard for you to meet deadlines. Finally, we have a lot of big ideas here at Mission Driven Data and sometimes we make last-minute decisions. If people like that aren’t really your jam, this might not be the right position for you.
