About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its Defense Services business unit. The COO will be a key leader in the organization, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the business unit, managing day-to-day operations, and driving results. This role requires a professional with a strong background in the defense services industry, capable of managing a multi-million-dollar profit and loss business, and experienced in sustaining and growing a professional services business through business development and government contracting. The successful candidate will have a startup mentality, excellent general management and leadership skills, and a relentless commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will also be expected to build and maintain a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team, and to ensure that the business unit's operations align with the core operations of the company. While not mandatory, prior experience in the civic tech space and working in a remote-team environment are considered nice-to-have qualifications.
