The Events Services Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of events hosted at GEI. This position supports all aspects of event operations, from pre-event planning to day of coordination and post event wrap up- while delivering exceptional service to clients, guests, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with event planners, vendors, and clients to understand event requirements and ensure all needs are met.
- Being present during events to supervise setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring everything runs accordingly to plan and resolving any issues that arise promptly.
- Directing and supervising event staff, including servers, security personnel, and technical support, to ensure they perform their duties effectively and provide excellent service.
- Interacting with clients and guests to address any concerns or special requests, providing a high level of customer service to enhance the overall experience.
- Handling any unforeseen challenges or emergencies during the events, making quick and effective decisions to minimize disruptions and maintain a positive atmosphere.
- Ensuring that all events comply with safety regulations and venue policies, including crowd control, and emergency procedures.
- Assisting in budget planning and monitoring expenses related to event operations, striving to achieve financial targets while delivering quality service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience
High School Diploma or equivalentEvent planning and food service experience preferred.Ability to multitask in a fast- paced environment.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for event coverage
