Position Summary
As Financial Analyst, you’ll dive deep into our fuels distribution business covering propane, diesel, lubricants, and transport mastering our systems and transforming data into strategic insights. You will collaborate with operations, sales, supply chain, and leadership to analyze performance, guide pricing, optimize logistics, and support business decisions. This role is ideal for a results driven analyst eager to learn the fuels industry and help shape a 100 year old success story.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize financial, operational, and commercial dashboards (Power BI experience preferred)
- Analyze sales and margin performance by product, region, customer, and delivery type
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to assess fleet / truck utilization, routing efficiency, and fuel consumption trends
- Support pricing models, margin scenarios, and budgeting processes, highlighting trends and anomalies
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision making
- Improve data quality by collaborating with IT and business stakeholders on data integration and validation
- Monitor cost drivers (fuel prices, labor, logistics), deliver trend insights, and recommend continuous improvements
- Develop KPIs for business units to monitor performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and / or efficiency gains
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, data-driven formats
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field2 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in distribution, logistics, energy, or related industriesTechnical Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skillsComfortable analyzing large datasets, identifying patterns and variances, and drawing meaningful conclusionsAbility to link financial outcomes to underlying operational drivers and business processes across sales, operations, and supply chain functionsAble to present financial and operational insights clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, data analysis)Familiarity with ERP and BI systems; experience in MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains), or fuel industry tools is a plusBe able to troubleshoot data issues in ERP systems and with automated feeds between multiple systemsSoft Skills
