The Project Controls Specialist / Project Scheduler is an integral part of the successful execution of complex and large-scale construction projects. Under the supervision of the Project Manager and / or Project Controls Manager, this role is responsible for the following :
Developing and maintaining project schedulesDeveloping and maintaining project progress tracking systemsGenerating project reporting and deliverablesCoordinating with customer project controls representativesAssisting with development and negotiation of change orders, overhead extensions, claims / disputes, etc.Developing and maintaining project controls processes including but not limited to, document control, cost controls, and material tracking / procurementUnderstanding the project scope of work, contract documents and project controls requirementsAssisting field supervision with technical queries and workface planningOverseeing, training, and evaluating junior project controls personnel (as required)Perform regular job walks to evaluate progress and site conditionsSkills and Qualifications :
Degree in Construction Management or a related technical degreeApproximately three () to ten () years’ experience in industrial construction project controlsStrong proficiency in Primavera P, Microsoft Word and ExcelUnderstanding or proficiency in Microsoft Access and general database implementationProficiency in reading drawings and understanding technical documentsStrong understanding of project processes and their interdependenceStrong technical writing skillsAbility to work with other professionals with varying personalities and backgroundsWillingness to listen to and learn from other highly skilled construction professionalsWillingness to travel and work overtime (as necessary)Physical Requirements :
