The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries / hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

General Purpose : The Compliance & Grants Coordinator is responsible for soliciting financial support in support of continuing medical education (CME) activities mounted by the IIE, and ensuring that these, and other continuing education (CE) activities, are in compliance with standards and guidelines established by key stakeholders, including credentialing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The coordinator will partner with activity directors and planning committee members to develop course content and related materials to ensure content is current and meets medical best-practice standards, with emphasis on patient safety, improved patient outcomes and patient care / quality. The Compliance & Grants Coordinator will specialize in all aspects of researching and applying for available grants, as well as conducting post-activity reporting, reconciliation and statistical analysis. The coordinator will ensure that national accreditation guidelines for the certification of local, regional, and national CME activities are upheld; monitor and provide professional guidance throughout this process.

Essential Functions

Ensure continuing medical education (CME) activities and continuing pharmacy education (CPE) activities are in compliance with the University of Rochester, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) standards and requirements.

This includes creating continuing education (CE) training resources and collaborating with U of R departments and external stakeholders on compliance requirements.

Develop and implement review process for CME programs providing Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits which includes evaluating applications for compliance, communicating with planning teams, analyzing documents for accuracy, and transmitting records to ACCME's reporting system.

Coordinate grant requests for continuing medical education (CME) activities which includes developing proposals, researching opportunities, submitting grant requests, collaborating with program planning teams, communicating with funders, tracking payments, and completing final reports.

Develop and coordinate sponsorship (exhibit) requests for continuing medical education (CME) activities which includes developing prospectuses, conducting outreach to external stakeholders, collaborating with program planning teams, communicating with exhibitors, and tracking payments.

Assist with completion of Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) annual report due to the ACCME.

This includes analyzing CME data to input into the web-based program. Assist with the reaccreditation process required by the ACCME, including compiling all required documents for the files selected for review, writing sections of the self-study narrative, and participating in the reaccreditation interview.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience required

Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required

Bachelor's Degree (English, Journalism, Communications, or similar area preferred) and three years of experience, or equivalent. Proven track record in grant writing and program development; knowledge of AMA, ACCME, and other continuing education credential organizations; knowledge of OIG / PhRMA Guidelines; program / project management in the field of continuing education. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and database management skills. Must be innovative, detail oriented, self-motivated, and professional. Required

Licenses and Certifications

Having, or working toward, University of Rochester CLASP (Continuous Learning for Administrators of Sponsored Programs) certification. Preferred
