Mainframe DB2 DBA

Extensive experience with the following :

• Administration of Databases, Storage Groups, Table spaces, Tables, Views, Indexes & Referential Integrity.
• Support multiple DB2 subsystems simultaneously
• Supporting client and internal requests for building all types of DB2 objects.
• Creating and Managing DB2 objects like Databases, Table spaces, Tables, Indexes etc. in Production and development regions.
• Perform data maintenance using LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG and RUNSTATS.
• Monitoring health check jobs like Imagecopy, Runstats, DDL, DML reports etc.
• Converting Segmented and Partitioned table spaces into UTS.
• Rebalancing of Partitions.
• Space Management and Monitoring.
• Perform End-to-End Release activities.
• Prepare test environments and performs data refresh.
• Identifying problematic SQL and optimizing SQL queries to improve application performance.
• BIND / REBIND plan and packages.
• Creating and scheduling utilities like COPY, Reorg, RUNSTATS and QUIESCE.
• Running Adhoc Reorgs, Runstats and Rebinds in Productions Environment.
• Altering of DB2 Objects on Production and Test Environments.
• Analyzing index requirements and design appropriate indexes.
• Implementing and scheduling production DB2 jobs.
• Ensuring proper backup and recovery by maintaining DB2 image copies and recovery JCLs.
• Granting / Revoking privileges on DB2 objects for Application Users.
• Supporting the Application teams to resolve the DB2 issues.
