The West Texas Spine Institute (WTSI) is a growing orthopedic practice serving the Lubbock, Midland & Odessa areas and we are looking for a bilingual Medical Assistant to join our team. This Medical Assistant would primarily be assigned to the Odessa location but would travel to the Lubbock location minimally one day every other week.

The Medical Assistant works as a liaison between operations, providers, and other team members at their assigned location. The Medical Assistant plays an integral part in day to day operations and serves as a role model for others. As a Medical Assistant you will perform both front and back office duties to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including preparing the patient and the environment for treatment

Responsibilities Orthopedics, Pain Management, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and / or Neurology experienced preferred but new or recent grads are welcome to apply. This Medical Assistant Opportunity has the following essential functions :

  • answering incoming calls as needed
  • greeting and taking patients to exam rooms
  • assisting the provider as needed
  • inputing demographics and updating the EMR at each visit
  • processing medical records requests
  • ensuring all diagnostic tests, hospital reports, and other medical records are available prior to clinic visits to provide quality patient care
  • providing insurance verifications as necessary
  • scheduling
  • performing onsite inventory management in coordination with the Practice Manager
  • maintaining organization, cleanliness, and inventory of the exam rooms
  • providing cross coverage for others
  • maintaining workflow without direct supervision
  • working cooperatively with coworkers, providers and management
  • sharing knowledge and insights with co-workers and leadership a constructive manner
  • implementing best practices and contributing to continuous improvements

Position available immediately! Compensation to commensurate with experience. Starting pay from $20.00 hour. Must be willing to travel as needed to other locations to work with providers. Travel reimbursement provided.
