Job Description :
As a Software Engineer on the People Workforce & Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE) team, you'll help build and support enterprise-level solutions that power Southwest's Workday system. You'll design, develop, and deploy custom integrations, reports, and dashboards across modules like HCM, Payroll, and Talent using tools such as Studio, EIBs, BIRT, and App Builder. This role requires hands-on problem solving, deep technical expertise, and collaboration across Teams and vendors to deliver scalable, well-integrated systems. As part of the COE, you'll contribute to high-impact initiatives that connect leaders to the right data and tools, helping Southwest support its People with precision, care, and efficiency.
Additional details
- This role allows for voluntary remote work for the majority of your working time within the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with occasional on-site presence at our Corporate Campus for training, meetings, and business needs. This role may also require limited travel for business purposes.

Responsibilities
Apply knowledge and skills of software development and testing effectively to solve a range of problemsWork alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practicesCollaborate closely with customers and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposalsDocument each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenanceDetermine and assess the needs of the user and then create software to meet the requirementsIdentify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skillsWork in an agile environment to deliver high-quality softwarePrepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programmingMentor junior members on the teamImprove and expand technical capabilities by continuing their education thru reading, workshops, conferences, and / or communities of practiceMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee's LeadersKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required : High School Diploma or GEDRequired : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems or similar fields of study or equivalent advanced level experienceExperience
Required : Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in software engineeringRequired : Hands-on experience developing Workday integrations across various modules (HCM, Payroll, Talent etc.)Required : Deep expertise in designing, developing and deploying customer integrations, reports, and dashboards using Studio, EIBs, and BIRT. Competitive market salary from $110,900 per year to $123,200 per year
