The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing in-depth analysis of plant performance data generated by machinery, people and SAP for both plants on the Memphis campus. This position works in concert with plant and accounting leadership to champion selected analytical discoveries through development of tracking tools, leadership of cross-functional teams and assisting IT with the automation of findings. In addition, this position contributes to plant budgeting & forecasting, plant cost savings initiatives, capital project analysis, MRO inventory management, and governmental grant development & reporting.
Major Responsibilities :
- Conduct in-depth analysis of pre-existing key performance indicators, to discover trends, isolate primary cost drivers and identify process deviations, in support of plant improvements
- Independently develop new performance tracking tools from existing data collection efforts Implement them and train the plant in their effective use, in support of plant improvements
- Act as an accounting resource to support IT development and automation of key performance indicator tracking tools
- Participate in MRO and its inventory cycle counting program and provide support, analysis and follow up actions that will mitigate material losses
- Support the Regional Controller with financial analysis in areas with long-term planning horizons such as capital projects, cost savings initiatives and governmental grant development & reporting
- Act as an accounting resource for development and implementation of targeted IT automation that directly benefits accounting process rigor
- At the direction of the Regional Controller or Lauderdale Plant Controller, follow up on manufacturing variances identified to facilitate ongoing monitoring and resolution
- Support the Plant Controller, Regional Controller and Corporate Financial team during the annual budgeting process, the 6+6 budget update, the year-end external audit and the year-end financial close
- Support plant operational decision-making by ensuring the delivery of regular periodic or requested financial information, including completing ad-hoc spending or cost analysis and other requests as they arise
- Participate in the follow up research, analysis and reporting on month-end financial issues as identified by the Plant Controller in support of a timely, accurate and comprehensive month-end close
Analytical Support & Data Management :
