Controller – Construction Industry At Pacifica Continental, we are seeking an experienced Controller to join a leading and rapidly expanding company in the construction sector.
This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and leading a high-performing accounting team across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and supervise all accounting functions for the business units, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting, monthly closing, and integration within the CMiC system.
- Oversee financial forecasting, including Work in Progress (WIP) projections and other revenue and expense planning.
- Participate in contract reviews, project setup, billing structures, and client meetings as needed.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 30 project accountants, working closely with HR and operational leadership to attract, retain, and mentor top talent.
- Work alongside senior management to craft and execute financial strategies that align with business growth objectives.
- Implement and enhance internal controls to optimize financial integrity and efficiency.
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, consolidating financial data for strategic planning.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into company performance, income, expenses, and balance sheet management.
- Collaborate with the treasury team to support cash flow management, collections, and payment processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommending best practices for financial operations.
- Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as directed by senior leadership.
- Supervise complex journal entries and ensure their accurate reflection across financial statements.
- Manage the annual external audit process and year-end financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience :
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.Prior experience in project accounting is highly desirable.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.Strong background in job costing and revenue recognition for construction companies.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and strong analytical abilities.Hands-on experience with integrated accounting systems.Familiarity with Procore construction software is a plus.On site job.This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who is eager to make a significant impact within a thriving construction company.If you have a passion for financial excellence and team leadership, we encourage you to apply!
