Job Description :
This position will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our instructional products, from concept to launch, while also managing complex programs that ensure the successful delivery of these products. This role requires a unique blend of strategic product management, program management, and instructional design expertise. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education technology, strong6 leadership skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards the successful completion of projects. Duties and Responsibilitie s :
Program Management
Lead and manage complex programs, ensuring the successful delivery of instructional products on time, within scope, and within budget. Develop and maintain detailed program plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the program lifecycle.Identify and mitigate risks, and proactively resolve issues that may impact program success.Monitor and report on program progress, including status updates, KPIs, and post-launch evaluations.Other duties as assigned.
Product Management
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our instructional systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including instructional designers, content developers, UX / UI designers, and engineers, to ensure product alignment with market needs and business goals.Manage the product development lifecycle, including defining requirements, prioritizing features, and overseeing the development and release of new products and features.Develop and maintain product documentation, including specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Instructional Systems DesignWork closely with instructional designers to ensure that product features and functionalities align with pedagogical best practices and learning outcomes.Ensure that all instructional products are developed with a focus on user engagement, accessibility, and efficacy.Stay current with trends and innovations in instructional design and educational technology, incorporating them into product development where appropriate.
Pre-Sales Support
Collaborate with the sales team to provide product expertise and insights during the pre-sales process, helping to articulate the value proposition of our instructional products.Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and demonstrations that effectively showcase the capabilities and benefits of our instructional systems.Partner with potential clients to understand their unique needs and challenges, tailoring product solutions that meet their specific requirements.Participate in client meetings, workshops, and calls to provide technical and instructional design guidance, ensuring alignment between client expectations and product capabilities.Gather and relay customer feedback from the pre-sales process to inform product enhancements and future development.Work closely with marketing to develop pre-sales materials, such as brochures, case studies, and product briefs, that highlight product features and success stories.Support the sales team in developing competitive strategies and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other sales inquiries.
Required Skills and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, project management, business management, or a related field.At least (5) ten years of experience in product management and / or program management within the education or e-learning industry.Strong understanding of instructional system design principles and methodologies.Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs and delivering products that meet business and user needs.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to think strategically while managing the details of day-to-day operations.Proficient in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies is a plus.Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills (Not Required) :
An advanced degree in Instructional Design, Education, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Over (10+) fifteen years of experience in product management and / or program management within the education or e-learning industry.Active-duty military experience or experience working within the DoD.Past experience managing military training systems development efforts. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.An active Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements :
This position typically requires working in a lab or office setting with some exposure to manufacturing and testing environments. The role may involve handling hardware components and using specialized equipment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Clearance Requirements :
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
