Position Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Controls Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment on 2nd shift. This role is ideal for an experienced professional skilled in industrial automation, with strong proficiency in PLC programming and system integration. Candidates with a background in the automotive industry are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
Design and configure HMI and SCADA systems.
Develop and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
Implement and maintain motion control systems including VFDs and servo systems.
Support and improve manufacturing processes through automation.
Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and upgrades.
Lead projects from design through implementation, including budget and timeline management.
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing setting (automotive strongly preferred).
Strong knowledge of control system architecture and industrial networking.
Proficient in CAD software for control system design.
Familiarity with automation hardware platforms and industrial robotics.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Experience with data acquisition, process optimization, and continuous improvement methods.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory and safety standards.
Ability to work independently on 2nd shift and lead engineering projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with international standards or working with global teams.
Active participation in professional engineering organizations or ongoing education.
