Monday - Friday, 40 hours / weekA Certified Medical Assistant serves both administrative and clinical support in a healthcare setting, under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center.RESPONSIBILITIES : Model a service attitude towards others and promote a positive work environment
Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider)
Gather patient medical history, verify insurance information, and update patient demographics
Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients and maintain a clean and orderly environment
Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, filing and order supplies
Lead and initiate problem resolution
Collaborate with all members of the interprofessional health care team by communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information
Perform routine tests on patients and teammates such as EKG, rapid strep, urinalysis, and tb screens
Follow-up with patients as appropriate to ensure compliance with recommendations, medications, lab / x-ray results, special visits, PCP visits, dieticians, diabetes educators, etc.
Complete insurance forms and coding procedures for billing purposes
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Provide care coordination with hospital, ED, consulting physicians and / or community resources
Comply with all required HIPAA laws
Other duties assigned by the Director of Wellness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Certified Medical Assistant - Not a Certified Medical Aide 2-3 years Certified experience required Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
Ability to work well with people and maintain a helpful, understanding, and positive attitude
Excellent telephone / customer service skills
Legible handwriting
Strong computer skills
Ability to work with diverse staff across different levels of authority
Ability to perform Essential Duties
Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disability, and hospice patients
Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures.
