Description
The Welder / Fabricator 2 is responsible for the layout and fabrication of metal assemblies and weldments based off of the detailed shop drawings provided. Reading and interpreting sketches, diagrams, and blueprints, this individual will utilize their experience with structural and sheet metal welding, forming, and various other fabrication processes while following all safety precautions.
- Perform take-offs and establish cut list from shop drawings, and shop order pages.
- Determine the appropriate equipment or method based on the provided requirements.
- Cut and work material using tools such as : oxygen / fuel cutting, horizontal band saw, iron worker, plate sheer, drill press, and various hand power tools.
- Layout assemblies and fabrications to be tacked and welded.
- Perform welds using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes in all positions to AWS D1.1 code.
- Load and unload material from trucks to storage area and move material within workspace using forklifts.
- Operate overhead crane and / or assist with the rigging and moving of parts as required.
- Maintain necessary quality checks, record and complete process documentation and any other production and inspection records as required.
- Work from drawings, sketches, process sheets, shop order pages, and other forms of verbal and written communication.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GEDRequires 3-5 years' experience or formal training in one of the following disciplines; mechanic, welding, machiningMust obtain a valid Driver's LicenseMust obtain working knowledge of AWS D1.1, and AWS weld symbol interpretationMust be familiar with structural, and sheet metal welding, forming and various other fabrication processesMust be able to work independentlyMust be able to tolerate very hot and very cold weather conditionsHighly productiveMust have a good sense of quality and valueAttention to detail
