Overview
As part of Repair Solutions Engineering team, develop, support, maintain and grow pipeline repair solutions product & services offerings.
NOTE : This position can be filled in the following TD Williamson office locations : Houston, TX, Tulsa, OK, or Edmonton, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include, but are not limited to :
- Team lead and SME on repair solutions product offerings (primarily type A compression sleeves and type B sleeves).
- Engineering reviews, design, analysis.
- Associated R&D / papers / conferences.
- Technical support (sales, operations, supply chain, business development).
- Development and maintenance of processes and procedures related to engineering design, manufacturing and installation.
- Design verification testing, mock-ups.
Secondary duties may include, but are not limited to :
Supporting repair solutions engineering team (primarily related to in-service welding and hot tapping and isolation applications).Feasibility reviews, engineered solutions (including finite element analysis).QMS / audits / licenses & permits.Fabrication / repairs / maintenance.Supporting services operations and training.Development and maintenance of WPS’s / PQR’s / WPQ’s.Engineering and quality packages, associated calculations, drawings.Contractor and supplier maintenance.Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or similar discipline.7+ years of engineering experience.PE / P.Eng. preferred.Experience with pipeline related materials, design, manufacturing, maintenance and repairs.Demonstrated experience and proficiency with modeling & analysis software (e.g. Ansys, SolidWorks).International experience an asset.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of pipeline codes and standards (e.g. ASME B31.4, B31.8, Section IX, PCC-2, API 1104, 570, 2201, CSA B51, Z662).Knowledge of pipeline regulations (e.g. DOT, PHMSA, CFR 192 / 195, Onshore Pipeline Regulations, Pipeline Act, Safety Codes Act, NEB).Familiarity with Pipeline Repair Manual and P11 Inspection, Assessment and Repair of Damaged Steel Pipelines.Knowledge of related pipeline owner specifications.Skills in FEA / 3D modeling and drafting, engineering analysis (non-linear, CFD, etc.), problem solving tools, integrity assessments and mechanical design principles.Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and machining methods.Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. DFM / A, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).PRCI experience an asset.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills.
