CURRENT SITUATION :

The client's current data environment is primarily based on SQL Server and largely on-prem. Their existing data warehouse integrates data from multiple EHRs and internal systems into a centralized SQL Server environment; however, it is not cloud-native and only supports data up to the previous day, which limits real-time reporting capabilities. Much of the warehouse was built in a report-specific, ad hoc manner, leading to inconsistent structures, limited reuse, and inefficient joins. There is no established star schema, operational data store (ODS), or layered architecture to support scalability or best practices in business intelligence (BI).

  • This role will work with a team of three to :
  • Audit and rationalize 700+ legacy reports

  • Build baseline executive and operational dashboards
  • Introduce automation and standard templates to reduce manual report requests (currently over 200 / month)
  • Lay the foundation for scalable BI infrastructure and cloud migration (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)
  • Transition ownership of reporting from a reactive, SQL-only team to a forward-looking, engineering-capable group
  • In addition, this new team will :
  • Handle all day-to-day report generation, visualization development, and data request triage

  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, performance, and consistency
  • Collaborate with leadership and data warehouse / architecture counterparts to evolve the company's BI and analytics maturity
  • Ultimately, this phased approach ensures the new Data Operations team has both the context and capacity to modernize the reporting function sustainably and strategically.

    KEY SKILLS :

  • SQL Server / T-SQL - foundational to the current data warehouse and essential for report development
  • Data Visualization / Dashboards Power BI is the primary tool for data visualization and dashboard creation; strong design and publishing experience expected. Tableau would also be considered.
  • ETL Development - especially experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines (preferably using Databricks)
  • Databricks - required for data processing and reporting pipeline development; expected to support future modernization
  • Azure Data Stack - current environment includes Azure-based elements; familiarity is important as future direction may expand on Azure
  • Programming Languages :
  • Python, C#, R - scripting, automation, or integration experience using these languages is highly valued
  • DAX, Power Query (M) - for developing efficient Power BI reports and data transformations
  • Scalability Exposure to large data set processing (scalable data solutions, etc.)
  • Stakeholder Liaison History working with business stakeholders to define BI / DW solutions
  • NICE TO HAVE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Architectural Exposure to Data Modeling & Warehousing Concepts - especially familiarity with performance optimization, schema design, and data integration strategies
  • Business Acumen - ability to gather, interpret, and translate business needs into effective data solutions
  • Unit Testing & Version Control - History of defining and working within disciplined development practices and CI / CD pipelines.
  • EHR Data Experience - familiarity with data from healthcare systems (e.g., NextGen, myAvatar) is a plus, but not required
  • Mentoring / Training End Users - New report usage, dashboards, and other tools.
  • Healthcare Domain - Clinics, Hospitals, Behavioral Health
  • NOTABLE BENEFITS :

  • This position includes a full-time benefits package that is on par with standard offerings, including health insurance, paid time off, and related support. Additional details will be provided during the interview process. Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, AD&D, Disability, FSA (healthcare / childcare), HSA, 401k
  • HOW TO APPLY :

If you are a motivated and organized individual passionate about Information Technology, we would love to hear from you. To apply, please answer our applicant questions and submit your resume detailing your qualifications and relevant experience. We look forward to hearing from you!
