Roblox client, used by over 70 million daily active users, is implemented as a "universal app" that runs on a variety of platforms, with many teams developing their features in a cross-platform manner. As a Senior or Principal Mobile Engineer, Platform Excellence, you will be part of a team focused on making sure that this cross-platform app offers excellent user experience on mobile devices, and especially on Android. You will work with cross-platform feature teams to identify opportunities for improvements and to find the best ways to serve our users. You will be the key Android expert on this team, but your work will combine native Android development with cross-platform work using Lua and C++. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, Platform Excellence.

This role is based in our San Mateo HQ office (on-site).

You Will

• Build the best features used by hundreds of millions of users.
• Partner with Product and Design to ensure the product embodies the shared vision.
• Take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across Roblox to build the world's best application.
• Shape how the next generation of internet users interacts safely in the metaverse.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and partner with other teams on their resolution to make our applications run lightning fast on any device
• Work with numerous teams to develop plans to improve performance and stability of Roblox client applications across all supported platforms

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA : The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

267,720-$331,640 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
