Associate General Counsel - Litigation

Location : This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week fostering collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.

The Associate General Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice and strategic counsel on complex high-impact litigation and related projects. Focus of work is on large scale and / or high financial level projects with broad department and / or organizational impact and moderate level of risk. Works as a strategic partner and decision maker with more senior leaders and manages work independently. A key focus of this position will be managing a Commercial litigation caseload and managing outside counsel.

How you will make an impact :

• Provide strategic legal advice and actionable recommendations that align with business objectives and mitigate risk.
• Lead and manage Commercial litigation including coordination with outside counsel internal stakeholders and budgets to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of one or more legal specialties with sound business acumen and knowledge of the business goals and objectives as they relate to the legal matter at hand.
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate legal projects.
• Contributes to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and / or department.
• Uses professional legal concepts and principles to contribute to development of companys concepts and principles.
• May possess deep technical knowledge or broader scope of knowledge.
• Provides instructions to junior members of the department and concise timely briefings to senior level business and legal management.
• Routinely works on complex problems in which analysis of situations and / or facts require an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Serves as a resource for other attorneys and paralegals as well as business clients instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues.
• Assesses and mitigates risk. Reports to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized.

Minimum Requirements :

Requires a JD current license to practice law and a minimum of 9 years of specific industry and / or technical legal experience post licensure; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
