General Summary : Under general supervision of the classroom Teacher or Teacher w / Waiver, the Teacher Assistant supports activities designed to stimulate learning, caregiver involvement, student progress, assessments, and transition into kindergarten.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in the classroom 5 days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Within the team structure, the Teacher Assistant provides quality preschool services for children enrolled in the Early Care and Learning program which include the following responsibilities :

Interactions with Children and Families (80%)

• Assist with management in the classroom, outside, transitions, and during the sign in and sign out process.
• Assist with providing age-appropriate activities using curriculum and supplemental materials that support growth and development.
• Assist with supporting all students and addressing their academic and developmental progress.
• Support the implementation of standard teaching practices, effective instructional strategies, and other applicable policies and regulations.
• Assist with classroom materials to support appropriate activities and ensure that learning environments, equipment, eating, diapering, and napping areas are clean, safe, and sanitized.

Staff Relationships (10%)

Minimum Required

The Teacher Assistant may work a non-traditional work schedule including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the program.

Background & Health Clearance Requirements : Background requirements determined according to the requirements of the program(s) which the position will be supporting.
