JOB DESCRIPTION

Builds a sales team and provides leadership to achieve the full potential of growth / profitability as per company goals and targets. Delivers strategic plan to grow customer base in the HTX Forklifts market area and contributes to the development of customer-centric based solutions.

Will work closely with internal contributors to implement and manage all sales aspects of the new / used forklifts, warehouse / allied products, and service / parts / rental sales strategy. Will have the knowledge and ability to assist the sales team in extending current specialty product markets as well as developing a presence in segments. Will work together with other business unit management to grow all aspects of the business.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a high energy, persuasive, polished, Sales Manager professional to manage and grow the Texas territory. Supported by an organization that is known as an industry leader in the Material Handling market, that not only manages high quality products, but provides the best "service and maintenance after the sale" that drives our niche in the market.

ESSENTIAL ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales and profit goals.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of all salesmen in material handling regardless of function.
  • Responsibility to assist in establishing and meeting vendor / other OEM performance commitments
  • Develop strong relationships with OEMs while representing HTX Forklifts in the most professional manner possible
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • Prepare marketing action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates the development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Understands the importance of timely follow-up with customers, managers, and staff making communication a top priority.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one meetings with all direct reports to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to Senior Management regarding performance.
  • Understands market pricing levels and works with sales staff to increase market share while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all prices, sales, and activity reports submitted by sales staff.
  • Assists Account Managers in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls departmental expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the sales team.
  • Recruits, tests, and hires sales staff based on criteria set by senior management.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of a CRM system and ensures it is used to its full capacity
  • Work across the entire HTX Forklifts footprint to do the right thing for all customers.

Qualifications and Skills :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • A college degree is preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years proven sales management experience in multi-location operation with a large span of control.
  • Exceptional and Proven leadership and team-building skills with proven negotiating ability.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout North Texas
  • A Sales Management or Business Development professional with 5+ years of diversified industry experience in Material Handling products
  • Must be fluent in English. Understanding of Spanish will be considered a plus
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to learn CRM products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of current social media and basic management of accounts.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands :

  • Must be able to work consistently in between a climate-controlled, professional office
  • environment and a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

  • Requires long periods of sitting or standing depending on daily workflow.
  • Requires the use of standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier, scanner, etc.)
  • May require moderate standing, walking, bending, or stooping.
