Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime in our manufacturing facilities located in San Jose and Fremont, CA, United States. Your key responsibilities will include :

• Support and maintain Ion Beam Etch and Deposition equipment in a high-volume wafer manufacturing cleanroom environment.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and computer systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and process capability.
• Provide technical training to team members and perform equipment audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules and procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance procedures.
• Participate in equipment installation, set-up, and calibration processes.
• Assist in developing and updating maintenance procedures and documentation.
• Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve equipment-related issues and source necessary parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with cleanroom standards.

This position requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekend work to support our 24 / 7 manufacturing operations.

Compensation & Benefits Details

You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under  either Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan (“STI Plan”) or the Sales Incentive Plan (“SIP”) which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and your performance. You may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
