Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Technician is responsible for performing tasks associated with maintaining compliance with applicable EHS regulations. The position also serves as the primary interface and point of contact with employees, visitors, and contractors regarding EHS-related items.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Implement OHS policies and programs
Notify supervisor of unsafe conditions / acts
Assist with incident / accident investigations.
Adhere to all the rules and regulations.
Conduct risk assessments / JHAs.
Enforce preventative measures.
Assure all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
All other duties assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Safety

Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations.

Assist with safety and health training.

Perform Safety audits and conduct safety inspections.

To help ensure that all our employees go home safely at the end of their working day.

Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.

Maintain safety equipment supply and availability.

Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures

Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices

Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Proficient in MS Office

Working knowledge of safety management information system

Outstanding organizational skills

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Team player

Good time-management skills

Great interpersonal and communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

3+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or role with demonstrated safety responsibilities.
