SOUS CHEF
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sous Chef
coordinates with the Kitchen Manager to oversee the day-to-day work of prep
cooks and dishwashers to ensure that all required items are prepared according
to company standards. They manage inventory as directed, attend relevant
meetings, and are responsible for the quality of product. They help drive
solutions to guest challenges and ensure an excellent customer experience. They
will be responsible for the execution of dinner service. The Sous Chef reports
directly to the General Manager.
DUTIES
- Delegate to and oversee the BOH team when the Kitchen Manager is absent
- Organize prep lists
- Oversee execution tasks through direct oversight of the back of house team
- Capable and prepared to fill any position, including delivery, as needed to ensure smooth and continuous operations
- Complete weekly inventory as directed
- Receive product, review invoices, and stock inventory according to company protocol
- Assist with menu creation, driving creative solutions to guest challenges, communicating ideas effectively to the owner.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work spaces according to health and safety rules
- Manage food quality and safety according to health and safety rules and company protocols
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and ensure completion of opening and closing duties and checklists
