Job Summary
The Office Manager position is responsible for leading and coordinating the administrative functions of the City Manager’s Office. It provides direct supervision to the administrative support team, including front desk staff and an executive assistant. This team serves as the first point of contact for the City Manager’s Office, representing the Mayor, City Manager and executive leadership to internal staff, community members, and outside organizations.
The Office Manager plays a key role in ensuring the administrative team operates smoothly to deliver exceptional service and support within a dynamic and public-service focused environment. Responsibilities include managing front desk operations, overseeing scheduling and meeting coordination, and ensuring consistent and responsive support for the Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Managers, and the Equity Officer. The position also handles financial and purchasing processes, contract and agreement tracking, facility and equipment needs and leads various department projects and process improvement efforts. This position will also be the primary backup for Council support.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing clear leadership and direction to staff. Experience working in or with executive-level offices, and knowledge of City Manager's Office functions and processes, is preferred.
