PeopleSoft Database Administrator

Beacon Hill Technologies, a premier National Information Technology Staffing Group, is seeking a PeopleSoft Technical Consultant to support a short-term engagement focused on PeopleTools administration and MS SQL Server database support. The consultant will work within a higher education environment, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and scalability of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2 running on PeopleTools 8.61 and SQL Server 2022.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer and support PeopleSoft environments across development, test, and production tiers.
  • Apply PeopleTools patches and PUM image updates using Change Assistant.
  • Execute project migrations, manage DMS scripts, and perform object merges (preferably using PHIRE).
  • Collaborate with development and functional teams for performance tuning and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and optimize SQL Server 2022 databases, including backups, patching, and high-availability configurations.
  • Document system architecture, deployment steps, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support capacity planning and proactive monitoring.

Top Skills & Experience :

  • Deep expertise in PeopleTools (v8.58 or higher; 8.61 preferred) and Campus Solutions 9.2.
  • Experience in higher education PeopleSoft environments.
  • Proficiency with Change Assistant, PUM updates, and environment refreshes.
  • Strong MS SQL Server 2022 administration skills.
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, batch scripting, SQL).
  • Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience with PeopleSoft and MS SQL Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of on-premise MS SQL Server administration.
