Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Mechanical (MEP) Designer with approx. 3 years of hands-on MEP experience to join a respected consulting engineering firm that supports mission-critical projects across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

This is a hybrid position that offers flexible hours (core working hours : 9 AM–3 PM), paid overtime , and the opportunity to grow within a company that invests in its people and prioritizes internal promotion.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical (MEP) Designer   Include :

  • Assist in the design and layout of electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Prepare and revise technical drawings and specifications using design software
  • Perform basic load calculations and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-discipline teams to support coordinated MEP designs
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to project documentation and submittals

Qualifications for the  Mechanical (MEP) Designer Include :

  • BSME (Bach in Mechanical Engineering) or BSAE (Bach in Aerospace) is required
  • minimum 3 years of MEP experience in a consulting or architectural environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passed the FE – fundamentals of engineering exam (preferred)
  • Familiarity with engineering design programs, such as Revit MEP or AutoCAD...etc... (preferred)
  • EIT (aka Engineer-In Training certification) is not required but is a big bonus!

    • Compensation for the Mechanical (MEP) Designer Includes :
