Restaurant Chef Requirements & Qualifications :
Degree in Culinary Arts or a Bachelor's degree in institutional management, nutrition, dietetics, hotel and restaurant management, or a related fieldServe Safe CertificationFour (4) years of progressive culinary supervisory experienceFour (4) years of experience in ordering food and suppliesWorking knowledge of restaurant financial reportingComprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationStrong leadership and oral / written communication skillsExperience with computerized menu management systems and knowledge of office and industry software applicationsAbility to work flexible hoursProven problem-solving abilityCommitment to high-quality food procurement, production, and servicesRestaurant Chef Preferred Background & Skills :
Experience in a similar role within an educational or institutional settingFamiliarity with menu development tailored to customer tastes and nutritional needsAbility to train, coordinate, and evaluate production staff effectivelyKnowledge of strategic planning for food preparation in non-kitchen venuesStrong organizational skills and attention to detail
