Role Overview

The role of a Welder includes the construction of various fabricated parts and the assembly from engineered prints by cutting, fitting, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Operates welding equipment to fabricate components and assemblies, including structural frames, piping, tanks, and ASME pressure vessels.
• Read blueprints and drawings to build designed fabrications.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on welding procedures.
• Lay out and fit up fabricated components with tight tolerances indicated in drawings / prints using appropriate tools.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead), which may be subjected to non-destructive testing (NDE, including but not limited to X-ray, PT, MT, UT).
• Visually inspect welds and material, and repair flaws by cutting, grinding, or air arc.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
