Cast Specialist / Senior Cast Specialist

UTHealth Houston is hiring for a Cast Specialist and a Senior Cast Specialist in the Texas Medical Center and Bellaire!

Cast Specialist / Senior Cast Specialist Position Summary :

Serves as a trained member of the orthopedic team who assists all health care professionals in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities concerning all casting duties.

Position Key Accountabilities :

• Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and braces under physician direction
• Assist with procedures like wound care and fracture reductions
• Fit and instruct patients on orthopedic devices (crutches, braces, etc.)
• Set up traction equipment and ensure proper function
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and support billing for DME
• Keep treatment areas clean and stocked
• Promote patient safety, satisfaction, and team collaboration
• Support quality improvement and cost-effective practices

Certification / Skills :

Minimum Education / Experience

High school diploma AND one year experience in a hospital, clinic or medical practice setting.
