Role summary / purpose of job
The Senior Billing Analyst prepares and processes client bills ensuring that invoices are sent out accurately and in a timely manner. The team works closely with the Client Value Analyst and the Executive Assistants to manage working capital and forms an important part of the larger Finance function.
This role involves working as part of a larger global Billing team. We are looking for a flexible team player who thrives in an active work environment. The role requires attention to detail, comfort with figures, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
- Process client bills, including uploading to the client’s ebilling system as required, and ensuring compliance with client fee deals, local regulations, tax requirements and internal billing policies.
- Edit bills based on instructions received from partners, assistants and client value while adhering to firm operating procedures.
- Accurately process time and cost transfers and write-offs / write-downs while ensuring proper authorization.
- Maintain a proper audit trail of work performed to ensure compliance with global and local billing standards.
- Proactively manage personal productivity in order to meet deadlines and ensure an accurate work product.
- Review, analyze and ensure compliance with client’s Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines.
- Address and resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies, working directly with attorneys and clients to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Assist in training new team members on billing processes as required.
- Provide coverage during absence of other team members.
Key requirements (Communication / skills / experience)
Confident working with numbers and able to reconcile (excellent numeracy skills).Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Ability to communicate effectively with a different colleagues, specifically, partners, executive assistants, client value and others.Effective time management and organizational skills with an ability to be flexible on short notice based on demand.Results focused and able to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
