A highly respected Engineering / Architecture company is in search of an experienced and skilled Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to be a key part of their team. This is a permanent, confidential, and onsite role that is crucial in upholding and improving environmental compliance throughout the company's operations and projects.

Summary
The Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist will be accountable for coordinating environmental compliance, remediation, and company support for operating divisions and construction projects. This senior position demands the application of advanced knowledge in compliance and environmental programs to align with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Consulting, oil and gas, or a similar heavy industry background that required regular interaction with core environmental regulations. Education
BS or BA preferred but not required. A degree in an environmental-related field is a plus. Must-Have Knowledge & Skills
Required Regulatory Knowledge : Deep expertise and extensive experience with RCRA , NPDES , and SPCC .
Core Required Skills : Self-motivated ; exceptional writing skills; outstanding communication through various mediums; driven ; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite ; and capable of working independently .
Work Requirement : Ability to be on call 24 / 7 for emergency events, unless on approved PTO.
Preferred or Nice-to-Have
Less Common Requirements : Knowledge of and experience with remediation and / or spill cleanup .
Preferred Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with Title V and Air Regulations .
Key Responsibilities
This specialist oversees environmental programs across intricate operating assets and construction projects, providing senior-level guidance and hands-on management :
Compliance & Auditing : Manage multiple compliance systems, conduct internal audits, and improve programs based on audit findings.
Permitting : Lead the entire permit process for all media, ensuring quality and accuracy of permit conditions.
Regulatory Interface : Manage and participate in agency inspections and advocate for the company in discussions on compliance or enforcement matters.
Risk Analysis : Apply risk-based analysis to resolve regulatory applicability concerns and compliance needs.
Field Operations : Oversee field inspections, gather environmental samples, and provide 24 / 7 emergency response support (including spill / release reporting).
Leadership : Mentor entry-level team members, develop new protocols, and manage external contractors / consultants.
