JOB DESCRIPTION
Full time residential game design and development professor in the computing & mathematics department.
Location : Tulsa, OK
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate courses in game design and developmentMaintain current and develop new curriculumAdvise and mentor students academically and professionally, including guiding student projects and portfoliosEngage in scholarly activity such as research, creative projects, or industry collaboration related to game design and developmentParticipate in departmental and university committees and activities, including curriculum assessment.Integrate Spirit-empowered Christian worldview into teaching and mentoring, consistent with ORU’s mission.Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for the Game Design and Development concentration, including representing the program at events.Maintain professional development by staying current with industry trends, tools, and practices in game development.Support interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments, such as Art & Media on game-related projects.Contribute to the department’s social media and promotional efforts, showcasing student work and program highlights.REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION : A graduate degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; however, candidates with significant industry experience in game development will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Demonstrated experience in game design and development, with proficiency in industry-standard toolsAbility to teach and mentor studentsStrong communication skillsA commitment to integrating faith and learning in a Spirit-empowered, Christ-centered environmentIndustry experience, published games, or interdisciplinary collaboration are highly valued.Faculty are expected to maintain a regular presence on campus throughout the academic week, including teaching, office hours, departmental responsibilities, and required University activities. Attendance at chapel services is expected as part of ORU’s commitment to fostering a Spirit-empowered community.
