Be part of something extraordinary at Nebraska Medicine! Provide and coordinate oral interpretation and written translation services for patients, families, customers, and staff of the clinical enterprise.

Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum of two years' experience with language translation in both verbal and written communication required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a health care setting required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Interpreter Training Course within 60 days of hire or transfer date required (Training provided within the department onboarding process).
  • Fluency in both verbal and written communication of the English and Spanish languages as well as familiarity with target cultures and customs required.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent tasks required.
  • Proficiency with computer programs for Microsoft Word, Excel, and Spanish Word required.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in languages, health care, or related field is preferred.
  • Previous completion of an approved Medical Interpreter training course preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Propio One (telephone service), statistical databases, and video relay interpretation equipment preferred.
