Position Overview
The organization is seeking a Lead Avionics Technician, or an experienced Avionics Technician. This individual will take ownership of avionics installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integrations. The position exists due to rising demand and a backlog of avionics projects. The selected candidate will help guide project flow, support maintenance leadership, and ensure that work is completed with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. The ideal person is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable handling complex avionics tasks across multiple aircraft types.
Key Responsibilities
Perform avionics installations, retrofits, and equipment upgrades
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and avionics system issues
Plan and manage project timelines and workflow
Maintain clear documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
Coordinate with maintenance leadership on scheduling needs
Work with technicians on multi-discipline projects when required
Communicate with aircraft owners, pilots, and internal teams
Prioritize safety and accuracy over speed or volume
Qualifications
Professional experience as an avionics technician in general aviation
Ability to work independently and take lead on projects
Strong troubleshooting and installation skills
A&P or IA preferred but not required
Experience with turbine or jet aircraft is beneficial
Familiarity with modern avionics platforms and wiring practices
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to completing projects fully and correctly
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly pay range of 30 to 40 dollars, with up to 45 dollars for exceptional skill
