Established in 1978, Moores Cancer Center is the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This designation is reserved for centers with the highest achievements in cancer research, clinical care, education and community contributions.
Under the direction of the Medical Director of the Moores Cancer Center Infusion Center, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will function as a provider of patient care for patients receiving treatment in the Infusion Center. The NP will provide patient care oversight, including management of toxicities and / or reactions to IV treatments. Direct supervision will occur by assigned medical oncologists. Requires a strong emphasis on the management of patients undergoing cancer and non-cancer related treatments, including clinical trials, BMT, chemotherapy, biologic and immunotherapies.
This position will primarily be based at Moores Cancer Center but will also provide patient care coverage for our various infusion locations.
Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the NPI or NPII level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and Furnishing License Certification.
National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area (FNP, AGACNP, or ACNP required).
Current ART certification, or BLS / CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
A minimum of two (2) or more years of recent NP or RN experience within an infusion oncology or hematology oncology setting.
Proven ability to perform initial history, and physical examination, identify major medical problems, and formulate appropriate plans of action.
Demonstrated knowledge of common diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures used in a clinic setting.
Must understand purpose, required supplies and / or equipment, how to perform procedure accurately, infection control, an accurate documentation of medical chart.
Strong ability to manage own patient load.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) certification.
One (1) or more years of Oncology Infusion or Hematology Oncology NP experience.

Annual Full Pay Range : $164,284 - $164,284 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
