Welding Duties / Responsibilities We manufacture Custom Construction Equipment Duties
Working on shop floor supervising and working hands-on.
Design, Build & modify fixtures and jigs with minimum supervision to achieve maximum production levels
To use MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules.
Must ensure that the jigs & fixtures will achieve an output of parts within tolerance and as per the drawings or sample provided
Working hands-on with other welders and engineering to best suit jigs for production.
Make first of samples and Lay-out of parts for approval according to the drawings & instructions
Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery, frames, bridge parts,
Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements
Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
Participate in and attend production meetings as required. Read and interpret drawings
Perform other duties as requested by the department manager.

Completes welding audits with CWB -determining system improvements & implements change.
Meets production financial standards by monitoring costs; implementing corrective actions.
Completes production requirements by expediting work results; monitoring progress; resolving problems.
Improves workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyzing delays; trying new methods.
Experience and Knowledge
Have worked their way from welder-to-welder fitter to fitter fabricator – to lead hand
This position is not for someone who has only been a ‘manager’
A Min of 10-15 years of experience in this industry.
Mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly processes
Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
Must be able to operate, adjust welding machines, gas gauges and wire feeders
Utilize power tools to cut, shape, and smooth materials
Perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements
Operate a crane for lifting heavy materials
