The Spokane Veterans Home is hiring for a detail-oriented Office Assistant 3 with excellent interpersonal tact and experience working with office equipment. Please Note : Expected work hours are 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Occasional evening work may be required. Incumbent may be required to work overtime shifts and travel to and from medical appointments and / or attend recreational activities for residents.
Updated as of July 1 2025 : This position is eligible for Supplement Basic Shift Premium for 24 / 7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents patients and / or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29 2027.

As a front-line representative of our facility to internal and external stakeholders this position assures a positive image of the care we provide for our residents. This is achieved by communicating professionally with outside agencies resident family members and other healthcare facilities as well as with internal counterparts co-workers and other departments. This role requires OA3 to continually coordinate with employees for staffing / scheduling and with managers for scheduling interviews. As well as ongoing communication with the AA5 DNS FA1 and AA3 on various project work.

Qualifications
Required :
6 Months experience in a clerical position preferably in a medical environment.
Preferred / Desired :
Excellent customer service skills.
Clear written and verbal customer service skills.
Experience with medical terminology and file management.
