Key Tasks

• Organize and read electronic distribution of orders (EDO) and sales orders, including notes, to determine what components are needed.
• Retrieve correct components to fulfill orders.
• Distribute components to assembly or staging area in a timely manner to ensure on time delivery of orders.
• Communicate with supervisor to rectify problems such as shortages and defective covers.
• Monitor stock quantities and turn in Kanban cards to purchasing group and cutting department.
• Return unneeded items to stock including covers and foams.
• Communicate with purchasing group to rectify problems, such as damages, and shortages.
• Perform inventory audits.
• Communicate with fabrication department and supervisor / lead on material substitutions to ensure on time delivery of order.
• Process material substitution or inventory adjustments with purchasing group.
• Assist in daily completion of "Cover List" for the sewing department.
• Follow and comply with all safety, work rules, regulations, ISO procedures, lean initiatives, and lean events.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. Maintain 5'S Program.
• Assist in other departments to ensure products are completed on time.
• Maintain Kanban System and participate in cycle counts.
• Report stocked out items through Electronic Distribution of Orders (EDO).
• Check in "Cover List" covers delivered by sewing department.

Your Background

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior relevant manufacturing experience preferred. Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide and metric conversions). Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English. Basic computer knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and supervisor. Become, and maintain, Stock Pickers, WAVE and forklift certification. Other qualifications or experiences.
