Position Summary :
The director is responsible for the five Hospitality Management programs at JCCC, including compliance with local, state, and professional education accreditation agencies. The director facilitates student matriculation, oversees program staffing, fosters positive internal and external stakeholder relationships, coordinates didactic and experiential curricula, manages resources, and provides leadership for the overall health and welfare of the program.
Required Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Hospitality or related field, such as Business or Education
- 3 years of experience teaching, or in a leadership role, in a hospitality educational program at the community college or university level
- 3 years of work experience in one or more of the fields represented in the hospitality management programs (culinary arts, hotel & lodging, food & beverage management)
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with local and national professional organizations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
- Demonstrated knowledge of the hospitality industry, and the role of education in preparing individuals for careers in the fields represented by JCCC’s programs
- Demonstrated ability to balance being the leader of an academic program while working within the team concept
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification by one or more of the accrediting agencies affiliated with hospitality management programsPrevious experience as an educational administrator in a hospitality management programPrevious community college experienceDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other division and college administrators, faculty, and staff in the academic and student services branches, continuing education, and the foundationTo be considered for this position we will require an application, resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts.

Student Matriculation – Facilitates matriculation of students through admission, pre-registration, retention, graduation, and placement processes.Faculty and Staff Supervision – Leads the coordination, recruitment, selection, and evaluation of full-time and part-time faculty and staff.External Constituencies – Fosters positive relationships with all external stakeholders through personal professional activities, and by working with faculty to coordinate their respective connections and participation with stakeholders.Curriculum – Provides leadership for overall program curriculum development and evaluation to assure program vitality leading to student success.Fiscal / Facilities / Equipment – Directs the formulation, prioritization, and implementation of the annual master plan at the program level in consultation with faculty and the program advisory committee per established policies and procedures.Leadership – Fosters a positive environment to promote innovation and teamwork.Other duties as assigned.
