Description
As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the Qualys global network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be responsible for working on new and existing network-related operations and projects with key business groups and teams to perform key improvements over the longer term.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Operates and administers network management and security monitoring systems along with voice products and network application systems
- Identification and resolution of hardware, software, or architectural issues in any of the corporate networks supporting all Qualys sites and employees.
- Analyzing systems errors or anomalies, as well as specific network performance issues and / or error messages, to ensure maximum uptime and service quality
- Troubleshooting, in conjunction with Operations, Engineering, and QA teams, Web, API, and other system issues at a per-packet level via packet trace and sniffer analysis.
- Prepares and conducts technical briefings, training sessions, policy development, in-depth technical studies, and development of plans and specifications
- Knowledge of LAN / WAN / WLAN / SD-WAN systems to design and install IP networks.
- Designs and implements network solutions. Provides technical support to internal staff
- Handles technical issues and incidents through hands-on troubleshooting
- Liaise with customers, vendors, and other personnel for problem resolution
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience / Skills / Knowledge Requirements :
4-7 years of work experience in the design, implementation, and support of Cisco Manager / Unified Communications and related voice applications.Experience with VMWare Linux and integrating multiple voice platforms / architectures.Experience implementing technical standards, policies, procedures, and documentation.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with tech and non-tech team users.Ability to manage and troubleshoot emerging IP-based VoIP and ConferencingKnowledge of network systems - switching, routing, 802.1x, RADIUS and TACACSExperience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless LAN controllersKnowledge about Change management and Change ownershipCreate and maintain network documentation, including technical drawings and Network inventoryNice to Have :
Experience with multi-site routing, peering, and disaster recovery network architectures is considered a plusFormal hardware training and / or certifications from one or more of the following vendors : Cisco Systems (CCNA, CCNP), Juniper Networks (JNCIA, JNCIS)Previous experience managing SaaS, e-commerce websites, and / or on-demand servicesSoft Skills & Non-Technical Qualities
